Right around Planet Wine the Silvaner grape has the reputation of being a second class citizen, whose wines are at best „quite interesting“, but always lack the class of Riesling. This Silvaner from old vines growing on a slate soil in a genuinely cool climate location tastes sleek and racy with an intense mineral character. And because it is „only“ a Silvaner from an unknown corner of the Nahe the price is absurdly cheap for this quality !
